In response to the Transport Commons Select Committee report on transport spending always favouring London, Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM, Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee, said:

“Transport infrastructure should not be about London versus the rest of the country.

“Investment is needed across the whole of the country, including London.

“It is essential that regional economies can grow, in order to provide the homes and jobs that local communities need.

“We know that London’s rail infrastructure is bursting at the seams and more capacity is needed. We’re not asking for investment to be an either or decision.”
