London went to the polls on May 5th and elected a brand new London Assembly.
It’s the job of the London Assembly to hold newly-elected Mayor Sadiq Khan to account by examining his policies and programmes.
The London Assembly acts as champions for Londoners, investigating issues that are important to the capital.
The Assembly now consists of 10 new Assembly Members and 15 returning Assembly Members.
The first Annual Meeting takes place tomorrow, at which a new Chair and Deputy Chair will be selected.
Members will agree the establishment and membership of a range of Committees to lead investigations into issues ranging from public transport, to spending at City Hall.
The Committee calendar for the upcoming year will also be approved.
The meeting will take place on Friday, 13 May from 10:00am in The Chamber, at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed via webcast.
