Research by the London Assembly found that between April 2015 and March 2019, there was drop in successful prosecutions in London for rape and sexual offences from 1 in 9 down to 1 in 16.
Following the recent publication of the Government’s review into rape prosecutions, how is the Met Police working to ensure that victims of these crimes get justice?
The Police & Crime Committee will question the Met Police and Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime on how they are working together to reduce violence against women and girls.
Other topics include:
- Policing of demonstrations
- Roads Traffic Policing
- Hate crime
The guests are:
- Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime
- Sir Stephen House QPM, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 23 June from 10am.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend but numbers may be limited. The meeting can also be watched live here.
