The night time economy (NTE) in London is worth £26.3 billion and employs around 700,000 people. [1]
Delivering a 24-hour city is a top priority for the Mayor, who published his vision document in July 2017 [2]. Both the Night Time Commission and Night Czar will be instrumental in realising that vision.
Tomorrow, the London Assembly will hold a question and answer session on the the Mayor’s vision for culture and the night time economy (NTE), his approach to delivering the NTE and the roles of the Commission and Night Czar.
- Can residents, businesses, NTE customers and workers all be kept happy?
- What progress has the Commission made to date?
- What has the Night Czar achieved so far?
The guests are:
From 10 to 10.45 am
- Philp Kolvin QC, former Chair of the Night Time Commission
From 10.45am to 12pm
- Kate Nicholls, Chair, Night Time Commission
- Amy Lamé, Night Czar
Following this, Assembly Members will submit motions (attached) on various topics.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 7 June from 10:00am in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or YouTube
