Statement from the Chairman about Night Time revelations

Chair of Night Time Commission
Created on
07 June 2018

During an all Assembly meeting today with his previous and current Night Time Commissioners, it emerged that Sadiq Khan had only met one of them once and that was for a photo op.

Chairman of the London Assembly, Tony Arbour AM said:

“It was shocking to learn that despite repeated public statements about how much the Mayor values and supports London’s vibrant night time economy he has met only one of the two people who have led the Night Time Commission and then just once. The meeting with Philip Kolvin QC was for a photo opportunity.

“It’s time the Mayor didn’t think all problems and difficulties London faces can be solved with public relations opportunities.”
