Rail infrastructure
Transport Committee - 10:00am in the Chamber

The Transport Committee will examine plans for London’s rail infrastructure in the short, medium and long term.  The guests are:

Wednesday 10 February
Transport for London (TfL)
Plenary – 10:00am in the Chamber

The London Assembly will put questions to the Mayor, Boris Johnson MP, in his capacity as Chairman of TfL and Mike Brown MVO, TfL Commissioner, on the policies and work of TfL.

Guests will be questioned on the following topics:

  • Polluting buses in London
  • Congestion in London
  • The Mayor’s transport legacy
  • Future of London transport

Following this, London Assembly Members will submit motions on topics of their choosing.

The London Assembly will also put questions to Sir Edward Lister, Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor for Policy and Planning, and Stewart Murray, Assistant Director of Planning, Greater London Authority, on the Minor Alterations to the London Plan document.

Thursday 11 February
Crime on London’s roads
Police and Crime Committee – 10:00am in the Chamber

The Police and Crime Committee will discuss crime on London’s roads. This session will focus on the approach of TfL and the Met to tackle illegal, anti-social and dangerous driving and road user behaviour:

  • Commander Jeremy Burton, Metropolitan Police Service
  • Chief Superintendent Paul Rickett, Roads and Transport Policing Command, Metropolitan Police Service
  • Steve Burton, Director of Enforcement and On-street Operations, Transport for London
  • Tom Boganowicz, London Cycling Campaign

Planning Committee - 2:00pm in Committee Room 1

The Planning Committee will examine how the Mayor has used land under his control to further strategic policy objectives and aim to identify how the next Mayor might use the lessons learned to date.
