News from Navin Shah (past staff): Navin Shah AM welcomes announcement of 400 new affordable homes

TfL have announced today that it is bringing three car parks in the London Borough of Harrow to market. The car parks at Canons Park, Rayners Lane and Stanmore Tube stations will support the creation of a minimum of 400 homes, of which 100 per cent will be affordable.

Local London Assembly Member, Navin Shah AM, said:

“I am delighted to see the Mayor's announcement of developing the station sites which will deliver 100% genuinely affordable housing. This is a really positive step forward in terms of addressing our local housing shortage. I’m looking forward to seeing more information about the types of unit we’ll see on these sites but it’s reassuring to know that they’ll be providing a helping hand for local people struggling to find an affordable home.

“This is also an opportunity for TfL to look at making Stanmore station step-free. Step free access at this station, for which I have lobbied successive Mayors with the support of local stakeholders for years, is desperately needed. I will continue to press the Mayor of London and TfL to make step free access a reality for local commuters and users of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital."
