Crossrail was due to launch last month but after more money and some acrimony, and it is still unclear when the project will be finished and open.
The London Assembly is seeking clarity on who knew about the launch delay of London’s highly anticipated new line and when they did. The Transport Committee will also try to get to the bottom of the disparity between the former Chair’s account and that of the Mayor’s.
The Committee has summonsed further documents from Transport for London (TfL) and is questioning all the key players involved in the troubled project.
The Committee will also be looking at what changes will be made to ensure Crossrail is delivered and the transparency of the project under its new Chair and Chief Executive.
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Transport Committee will discuss the future of Crossrail and an opening date.
The guests are:
From 10-10.45am
- Sir Terry Morgan, Former Chair of Crossrail
From 10.45am
- Heidi Alexander, Deputy Mayor for Transport
- David Hughes, Director of Strategy & Network Development, London Underground
- Mark Wild, Chief Executive of Crossrail
- Tony Meggs, TfL and Department for Transport nominee for the role of Chair of Crossrail
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 9 January 2019 at 10:00am in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
