Met to be questioned on number of sexual offences in London

In 2019, there were 12,098 sexual offences and 7,859 rape offences recorded by the Met. Whilst this is respectively a -0.6 per cent and -2.6 per cent reduction compared to 2018, the number of these offences has risen sharply between 2011 and 2018 [1].

Tomorrow, the London Assembly Police & Crime Committee will hold a Q&A session with the Metropolitan Police and the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime on sexual offences in London.
