Inquests into the four men killed by Stephen Port exposed “fundamental failings” in the investigation by the Metropolitan Police, revealing officers failed to carry out basic checks and missed opportunities to catch the serial killer earlier[1].
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Police and Crime Committee will question Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick on her response to the findings and what action the force is taking to improve trust in London’s LGBTQ+ community.
The Committee will also examine the Met’s Force Management Statement[2], a strategic planning document mandated by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
The guests are:
- Cressida Dick DBE QPM, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service
- Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 25 January from 10am, in Rooms G02 – G03 – G04, LFB Headquarters, 169 Union Street, London, SE1 0LL.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
