The Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan is designed to make London a safer city for all Londoners.
The number of total offences in London has risen over the last four years. In 2016 there were 764,852 offences in London, compared to 914,428 at the end of 2019, a 19.6 per cent increase [1].
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Police & Crime Committee will hold a Q&A session with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan on the performance of his Police and Crime Plan.
Other topics include:
- Standing together against extremism, hatred and intolerance
- Keeping children and young people safe
- Tackling violence against women and girls
- A better police service for London
Following that, the Committee will question Lib Peck, Director of the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) on the performance and progress of the Mayor’s VRU.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 12 February 2020 from 10.00am in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
