City of London Police were among the first to respond to the London Bridge attack in June 2017.
The Metropolitan Police, the British Transport Police and the City of London Police are all expected to work together to prevent and respond to terrorism, but how do the forces work together in preparing for terror attacks? What information is shared when a person of interest is identified? How do they work in preventing extremism?
The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee will hold a question and answer session with the three forces tomorrow. They have been widely praised for the way in which they worked together during recent attacks. Subjects for discussion include:
- The threat of terrorism
- Fraud
- Hate crime
- Dealing with an increasing number of people with mental health needs
- Leadership and culture
- Working together to support policing priorities in London
- Accountability and governance
The guests are:
- Cressida Dick CBE QPM, Commissioner, Metropolitan Police
- Alistair Sutherland, Assistant Commissioner, City of London Police
- Paul Crowther, Chief Constable, British Transport Police
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 31 January 2018 from 2:00pm in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
