There are three overall themes to the Mayor’s Draft Transport Strategy:
- Healthy streets and healthy people
- A good public transport experience
- New homes and jobs
The key targets of the strategy are:
- To reduce overall traffic in London by 10-15 per cent by 2041.
- To increase the mode share of sustainable transport (walking, cycling and public transport) from 64 per cent to 80 per cent by 2041.
The London Assembly will hold a question and answer session on the Mayor’s Draft Transport Strategy tomorrow.
After which, the strategy will be voted on by the Assembly. The guests are:
- Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
- Val Shawcross CBE, Deputy Mayor for Transport
- Mike Brown MVO, Commissioner of Transport at TfL
Following this, Assembly Members will submit motions on various topics.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 8 March from 10:00am in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or YouTube
