In response to the news that the Mayor of London has given the green light to redevelopment proposals for 9, 11 and 19 Osiers Road and provided funding to Peabody housing association to increase the rate of affordable housing provision on the scheme from 40% to 100%, local London Assembly Member, Leonie Cooper AM, said:
“It is hugely positive that the Mayor has stepped in today and given the go ahead to this scheme, which due to City Hall’s intervention and funding will offer 100% genuinely affordable housing.
“This is why it was unbelievable to see Wandsworth Council over-rule their own planning officers to try and block this development.
“We have also received reassurances that different tenures will be mixed into the development and communal spaces will be accessible to all. On top of this, there will be hundreds of much need cycle parking spaces to encourage residents to use more sustainable transport. Overall, we’ve got a really good deal”.
