Today, the London Assembly agreed a motion celebrating the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the NHS.
Dr Onkar Sahota AM who proposed the motion said:
“Today the NHS celebrates its 70th birthday. Its success despite the challenges it has faced, is a testament to all those who have worked tirelessly and with dedication in our health service since 1948. We owe them a great debt of gratitude and appreciation.
“The NHS, particularly in London, has benefitted from the incredibly talented people from all over the world who have chosen to work for it over the last seven decades. These people have shaped the cultural identity and diversity of our capital”.
