News from Florence Eshalomi MP (past staff): Florence Eshalomi AM responds to Bakerloo line consultation response

Created on
21 February 2018

Responding to TfL’s publication of their initial response to issues raised from the Spring 2017 consultation on the Bakerloo line extension consultation, Local London Assembly Member, Florence Eshalomi AM, said:

“The Bakerloo line extension will provide much needed transport links in South London, and I am pleased to see that TfL have published their initial response to the consultation with which almost 5,000 people and stakeholders engaged. What we’re seeing is continued huge support for the extension and I am thrilled to see it progressing.

“The consultation has ensured that concerns over construction noise and disturbance to residents will remain a priority in the plans going forward. I am happy to see that the consultation is giving residents a meaningful voice over issues such as proposed station locations. It’s great to see that, as a result, TfL are now considering their suggested changes, such as the possibility of a station at Bricklayers Arms.

“The increase in transport connectivity will provide a great boost to our local economy. This plan could see more jobs and more houses for local people over the next decade and that’s definitely something to celebrate.

"I look forward to TfL publishing their final proposals for the extension in the coming year. "
