When the Mayor set out the objectives in his original Draft Economic Development Strategy (EDF) for consultation, the London Assembly noted a general lack of specific, measurable actions.
Is there now more clarity on how success will be measured, and progress will be monitored?
Tomorrow, at a full meeting, the London Assembly will question the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on his EDS. Question areas will include:
- How the EDS accommodates uncertainty over the UK’s future trading relationship with the EU
- The challenges of interest rates, bank lending and taxation without the powers to change them
- Work started by the London Finance Commission to seek greater devolution of tax raising powers
- Other areas of economic policy with a clear case for greater devolution to London
- Tackling inequalities
Members will vote on the strategy after the debate following the question and answer session.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 29 November from 2:00pm in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or YouTube
