Is London prepared for dealing with climate change?

London is experiencing higher temperatures and more frequent severe hot weather events. Extreme heat can make homes, workplaces and public transport uncomfortable for everyone, and dangerous for vulnerable people.

On the other hand, extreme rainfall is a real threat to London’s infrastructure. London Underground stations, schools and businesses are at risk of surface water flooding.

The London Assembly Environment Committee will tomorrow hold an open mic forum with experts on how London can build resilience against the impact of climate change and extreme weather.

Londoners can ask a question to the Committee using the code #AssemblyEnv on Sli.do.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 15 January at 10.00am in The Chamber, City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or on our YouTube channel.
