With Crossrail’s new Elizabeth Line set to open in 2019, Dr Onkar Sahota AM raised the issue of increased and improved services to stations across Ealing and Hillingdon in a written question to Mayor Sadiq Khan at a recent Mayor’s Question Time. Dr Sahota sort reassurances from the Mayor that Crossrail will bring with it improved services for residents across his constituency.

In a written question to the Mayor, Onkar Sahota AM’s asked, “will the Mayor give reassurances to commuters using Hayes & Harlington, Southall, Hanwell, West Ealing, Ealing Broadway and Acton Mainline stations that they too will benefit from increased services at their stations as a result of the extra trains per hour being laid on West of Paddington; and will he confirm to me how many trains will serve each of these stations per hour in both directions?”.

Responding to Onkar Sahota AM’s question, the Mayor outlined his plans to increase services for passengers using the Hayes & Harlington, Southall, Hanwell, West Ealing, Ealing Broadway and Acton mainline stations would see an increased and improved service, with Acton Main Line stations seeing 4 trains per hour; Ealing Broadway 12 trains per hour; Hanwell will have 6 trains per hour and customers from West Ealing, Hayes 7 Harlington and Southall will have 10 trains per hour at peak periods. The Mayor also confirmed that customers would see an improved service when travelling to Heathrow Terminals, with a total of six trains per hour.

Local London Assembly Member, Onkar Sahota AM, said:

“It is vital that residents across West London see improved train service from Crossrail, and I am very pleased that the Mayor has said that TFL is working with Network Rail to improve the frequency of train services across Ealing and Hillingdon.

I will continue to work with TFL and the Mayor of London to make sure that local’s needs, concerns and priorities are heard.”
