Crossrail consequences and Night Tube progression

How will the delay to the launch of Crossrail affect passengers?

Following last week’s full assembly meeting, the Transport Committee will tomorrow continue to scrutinise the reasons for and the effects of the delay to Crossrail and the transparency of the whole project. The guests are:

  • Heidi Alexander, Deputy Mayor for Transport
  • David Hughes, Director of Strategy & Network Development, Transport for London
  • Sir Terry Morgan CBE, Chairman, Crossrail
  • Simon Wright, Chief Executive, Crossrail

During the second half of the meeting, Members will investigate issues arising since the launch of the Night Tube in August 2016.

The Committee will assess the impact of the Night Tube service on London’s economy, transport users and residents. It will also consider future development. Topics to be discussed will include:

  • Noise levels
  • Passenger demand
  • Economic impact
  • Crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Impact on night buses, taxi and private-hire vehicles

The guests are:

  • Nick Dent, Director of Line Operations, Transport for London
  • Peter McNaught, Director of Asset Operations, Transport for London
  • Richard Dilks, Programme Director, Transport, London First
  • Katharina Kort, Tube Noise Action Group
  • Assistant Chief Constable Robin Smith, British Transport Police

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 12 September at 10:00am in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
