Waste in London

London needs to get a grip on the amount of waste it produces and recycles. The Environment Committee publishes its final waste report, which brings together previous reports on the circular economy, household recycling and energy from waste and makes recommendations to the Mayor of London on how he can improve London’s waste management.

Sprinklers in London’s homes

Despite the number of fires in domestic properties declining over recent years, the fire at Grenfell Tower is a stark reminder that London needs to improve fire safety in its buildings. Among other items, the Panel will be updated on audit issues relating to the two 2014-20 European Programmes, which the GLA directly manages on behalf of the Government: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European Social Fund (ESF).

Police and Crime Committee – 10:00am in the Chamber

The Deputy Commissioner, Sir Craig Mackey QPM and Sophie Linden, the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime will answer questions on progress made in the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan, including:

  • Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls
