Transport Committee – 9.30am London Fire Brigade (LFB) Southwark Training Centre
The Transport Committee is investigating why 2015 has seen an increase in the number of fatalities among motorcyclists in London. Join Committee Members and Transport for London (TfL) for an abbreviated motorcycle safety course from the Met, London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service, followed by a short Met BikeSafe assessed ride.

- Presentation and short video clips to highlight different types of accidents and collisions and how these happen
10.30am-11.30am – Biker Down presentation
- Theory based ‘scene management’ presentation
- Safer Riding interactive discussion

- Opportunity for motorcyclists present to try the Met’s BikeSafe ‘assessed ride’

Preventing extremism in London
Police & Crime Committee
The Government’s controversial Prevent Strategy aims to stop people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. Now, more than ever, an effective strategy is needed to combat the very real threat that London faces from violent extremists. The Police & Crime Committee will publish its report, ‘Preventing extremism in London’, which assesses the implementation of the Government’s Prevent Strategy in the capital and makes recommendations to strengthen existing efforts to counteract extremism.
