Gun crime in London

Police & Crime Committee

The Police & Crime Committee will publish a report on gun crime in London, which looks at the source of guns and the changing patterns and trends around gun use. It is still not clear how many guns are on London’s streets and the supply of guns into the UK from abroad is a growing concern.

Annual Holocaust Memorial Day Ceremony

‘The Power of Words’ - 11:00am-12noon in The Chamber



The London Assembly and the Mayor of London will jointly host the Greater London Authority (GLA) Annual Holocaust Memorial Day Ceremony at City Hall.

The Ceremony will commemorate all those who were victims of the Holocaust and reflect upon those who have been affected by more recent atrocities.

The Address will be delivered by Rabbi Joseph Dweck and testimonials will be given by Manfred Goldberg, a survivor of the Holocaust and Kemal Pervanic, a survivor of the Bosnian genocide.

The Mayor’s draft London Plan

Planning Committee – 1:00pm in Committee Room 5

The Planning Committee will be leading the London Assembly response to the Mayor’s draft London Plan, open to consultation until 2 March 2018.

The Mayor proposes creating a lot more places of higher density in locations across London to get more out of limited land. What are the implications of this? The guests are:

Housing in the Mayor’s draft London Plan

The London Assembly Housing Committee will scrutinise the London Plan’s housing strategy, with the focus on affordable housing, housing size mix and small sites.

The Mayor’s Budget 2018-19

The whole Assembly meets to put questions to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan about his 2018-19 draft consolidated budget.

At this meeting, the Assembly has the power to amend the total budget, if a simple majority agrees to do so.
