• Hugh Robertson, Olympics Minister, has announced that the 1million target of increasing participation in sport as a result of the Olympics will not be reached and was an over-ambitious target at the out-set. How many Londoners have been inspired, so far, to take up sport as a result of the London 2012 Games? How many people are expected to take up athletics as a result of the hosting of the 2017 World Athletics championships: a) In London? b) Across the UK? How will this participation be encouraged?

It has been reported that out of an estimated £200m of claims received for compensation through the Riot Act following last summer's riots, less than £4,000 has so far been paid out.
