At the second meeting of the Assembly Police and Crime Committee, the Commissioner, Bernard Hogan-Howe gave an assurance that recruitment would be undertaken to ensure that PCSO numbers would be maintained at their establishment level. However it is currently the case that no new applications for PCSOs are being accepted. When will PCSO recruitment be re-started? When will the required 1,100 new PCSOs be deployed?
