Many industrial plots in Hackney Wick are being bought up by property speculators and developers, to be converted to residential and mixed use. This is already resulting in the loss of valuable industrial employers, and a reluctance on the part of landlords to let spaces that may be developed on, leaving sites empty. Will you ask the London Legacy Development Corporation to review whether it can designate and protect more of the area to remain for industrial use, and to proactively support the area to be a thriving hub of industry?
