40th Anniversary Grunwick Strike

As you will no doubt be aware, 2016 is the 40th Anniversary of the historic Grunwick Strike. The struggles of strikers, led by Jayaben Desai, against a ruthless, exploitative and anti- trade union employer is an important part of our City's history. The GMB has produced an exhibition about Grunwick to inform all generations of the lessons of the strike, which remain relevant today. Will you facilitate this display at City Hall and consider any other appropriate way of recognising the strikers?
