I understand that there is great disparity in the funding per head of population on mental health services between London Boroughs. What can you do to ensure access to Mental Health services is not dependent on postcode?

Operation Bodmin

  • Reference: 2016/2667
  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2016
A police officer from the Woodside Safer Neighbourhood Team in Haringey has set up an initiative, Operation Bodmin which tackles blue badge misuse in the borough. I accompanied officers in March this year and in that afternoon, three cars were seized and a number of misused blue badges were seized, as well as penalty notices being issued. Will you consider rolling-out Operation Bodmin to implement it across London? This seems like a really effective way for partners such as the MPS, TfL and local councils to tackle the misuse of blue badges.

Closure of local minicab offices

  • Reference: 2016/2666
  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2016
I have received correspondence from local residents who have been having difficulty in accessing minicabs due to the move towards smartphone applications, thereby leading to the closure of local minicab office offices. This causes difficulty in particular for elderly residents who do not own smartphones or who may not be computer literate. Do you have any figures on the number of minicab closures since smartphone technology usage for accessing minicabs has increased? How can you ensure that elderly people are still able to access this form of transport?

Following the Brexit vote many European citizens in Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea have expressed serious concern and worry about their future in Britain.
