London as a region has the highest rate of unpaid overtime, with 595,000 (16.3%) working longer than the 48-hour limit of the EU Working Time Directive. Not only is this unhealthy for workers, excessive hours does not produce the best results. Will unpaid overtime be looked at with your Business Compact?

A constituent has asked me to ask whether trams have been considered on Oxford Street considering it has some of the highest levels of Nitrous Oxide levels.

Benefit Sanctions

Benefit sanctions are a significant trigger for people having to resort to emergency food aid, for example by using a food bank. The Government pledged a yellow card system, which gives benefit claimants 14 days to challenge a decision to dock their benefits rather than imposing the sanction immediately. A pilot of this took place in Scotland, will you lobby the Department of Work and Pensions to review the damage to individuals by the sanction system in London and, at the very least, introduce pilots of this yellow card system in London?

I'm raising the following issue on behalf a visually impaired pensioner and disable campaigners in Harrow who have contacted Harrow Council about a crossing on Clamp Hill to enable them to visit local services like the hairdressers, dentist etc. The Council have undertaken a survey on the basis of which LBH believes that the crossing on the Stanmore side of the Uxbridge Road is sufficient and they reject the need for another crossing.
