Improving the mental health of young people

Defibrillators (Availability) Bill 2018

On January 25, MPs will consider the Defibrillators (Availability) bill at its second reading. This ten-minute rule bill put forward by Maria Caulfield MP would require provision of defibrillators in schools, leisure, sports and other public facilities, as well as provision for the training of persons to operate defibrillators, and funding the acquisition, installation, use and maintenance of defibrillators. This would ensure life-saving equipment is available within the narrow time window of opportunity to save the victim of a sudden cardiac arrest.
