  • Reference: 2019/14245
  • Question by: David Kurten
  • Meeting date: 18 July 2019
On 30 March 2016, whilst running for the office of Mayor of London, you stated that London's transport authority was far too dominated by white men. 1 At that point, there were 13 white men on TfL’s board and three women. You stated that you would ensure the board better reflected the ‘diversity’ of Londoners if you became mayor. Could you please tell me what the ethnic and gender composition of TfL’s board is today? 1 https://www.politics.co.uk/news/2016/03/30/sadiq-khan-there-are-too-man…

A Royal Commission into Policing

  • Reference: 2019/14243
  • Question by: Peter Whittle
  • Meeting date: 18 July 2019
On 5 July 2019, five ex-Met Police chiefs, who ran London's police force from 1993 to 2017, warned in a letter to The Times that cuts had "contributed to the feeling of lawlessness" generated by knife crime and county lines drugs. They called for a Royal Commission on Policing and the possible ending of the ‘fragmented’ system of 45 area forces. 1 Does this call for a Royal Commission into policing have your support? 1 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48878470

Deal or No Deal

  • Reference: 2019/14239
  • Question by: Peter Whittle
  • Meeting date: 18 July 2019
I note that on 4 July 2019 you Tweeted to your followers: ‘The damage that Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt seem willing to do to our economy, in pursuit of power, looks limitless. The refusal to take no-deal off the table is already creating uncertainty, denting business confidence and damaging our economy.’ 1 What empirical evidence (apart from what I believe to be scare mongering from HM Treasury, Remainer cheerleaders or former Goldman Sachs banker Mark Carney) do you have that the UK leaving the European Union without a deal will damage our economy? 1 https://twitter.com/SadiqKhan/status/1146853219466907650
