On 6th August 2025, Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist stated: ‘We have made deliberate choices to protect neighbourhood policing, response policing and public protection, services… This has included growing our neighbourhood teams by over 500 officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) over the last two years.
