About this event

The Mayor of London's St Patrick's Festival is back at Trafalgar Square on Sunday 15 March 2026 - and this year promises to be our most joyful celebration yet! The festival brings together Londoners and visitors from all walks of life to celebrate the energy, creativity and incredible contributions of the Irish community to our great city.

At the heart of the celebrations is our vibrant Main Stage, programmed by Head the Ball Events and hosted by Rachel Galvo, featuring an exciting mix of traditional and contemporary performances from acts including the Irish Culture Centre ChoirMoonlight: The Philip Lynott EnigmaCarrie BaxterCór Na nÓg choirJig and a Swig with the London Bodhrán BandThe WranNell MescalHuartanDavid Keenan and legendary performers The Commitments. Expect powerful moments, uplifting music and the very best of Irish and London‑Irish talent throughout the day.

And of course, the iconic St Patrick's Parade returns at 12:00pm, led by this year's esteemed Grand Marshal, Irish writer and broadcaster Emma Dabiri. The parade will fill central London with colour and celebration, featuring Irish County Associations, community organisations, marching bands, dancers, musicians and carnival performers.

Across the festival you can also explore Irish Creative Collective sessions, film shorts from London Irish Film & TV, the Out in the World: Ireland's LGBTQ+ Diaspora exhibition, Irish Language Lessons, children's arts and crafts with ArtburstPoems on the Underground, the charming Oldbog Cottage experience sponsored by SISK, and a lively selection of stalls offering food, crafts and cultural delights.

Across the generations, Irish LGBTQ+ people have emigrated and found opportunities to live and love abroad. Yet this journey was rarely a simple transition. The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum are proud to play a role in illuminating this hidden history of the Irish abroad. In almost every pattern of Irish emigration – from the story of Ireland’s religious diaspora to the history of Irish humanitarianism and the Irish search for employment abroad – can be found an LGBTQ+ story. Out in the World highlights 12 stories from the vast yet largely untold story of Ireland’s LGBTQ+ diaspora. Through six themes – exclusion, community, love, defiance, solidarity and return, this exhibition celebrates the role that Irish emigrants have played in making Ireland and the world a more inclusive place for LGBTQ+ people.

Pall Mall East will be awash with arts and crafts activities for all the family. Celebrating St Patrick’s Day, a friendly team of creatives from Artburst will guide families through the free drop-in workshops throughout the day.

Back for another year The Embassy of Ireland have lined up four Irish poets who you can hear sharing their words throughout Charing Cross Underground Station and Covent Garden Station on the same day as our event and on the 17 March. And for the first time, one of the poems will be in Irish!

Coming all the way from Ireland for all to enjoy, this interactive working depiction of a traditional Irish Cottage from the last century is here in all its glory. Step inside and step back in time.
