Charity Shop Assistant - Golders Green

What will I be doing?

• Assisting with the sorting and preparation of pre-loved donated stock, to include steaming, cleaning, ticketing and pricing.
• Assisting with customer service and donor care, advising on stock availability, accepting donations over the door and till work . Maximising Gift Aid potential with donors.
• Assisting with stock rotation and visual merchandising including window dressing.
• Team working to achieve daily takings targets working in order to benefit good causes.
• Encouraging recycling by assisting with the resale of bric a brac and clothing rather than it going to landfill.

What impact will this have?

• Raising money for 40+ charities each year, working in the fields of health, welfare, education and community.
• Charities we support include Heart Cells Foundation, Food Lifeline, Holocaust Educational Trust, Moorfields Eye Charity, Nightingale Hammerson Care Home. Details of the charities we support and the thanks given to us can be found on our website at www.allaboardshops.com.
• You will contribute to the team effort to maximise efficiency of the shop and therefore increase takings. A higher turnover means a great number of grants can be given.

Commitment

• A minimum of 3 hours per session.
• At least one session per week, with a set day preferred.

What else do I need to know?

• We are looking for friendly, personable and reliable people who want to help out as part of a team, raising money in a shop environment for good causes. You will be happy to interact with staff, volunteers, donors and customers in a busy and fun environment.
• We are looking for a range of people such as the newly retired with a lot to offer, those simply happy to give back to their community and their time to charity, people who have had a career break and are looking to get back into the working world or those starting off on their careers.
• We would welcome self-starters who are able to use their initiative under the guidance of the shop manager and team players willing to help out to achieve daily takings targets, raising money for good causes. No prior experience is necessary but a good dose of common sense.

• COVID PRECAUTIONS: All the necessary PPE will be provided; we provide safety inductions for volunteers including clear social distancing guidelines; risk assessments are in place to protect people and activities; We constantly monitor the government guidelines and adhere to them all.
