London budget 2019-2020

It is very ambitious budget I hope it will be useful for the Londoners 

 I think the young Londoners have to participate to improve the city life,but the people are very depressed paying very expensive living in London & that desmotivates them to get involved in things that matter 

Such as housing benifit or #keepCityClean

I am 70 years old I still work full time, I was brought up on a council estate in Peckham and have worked on one for over 30 years. I have never felt so sad for London - so much poverty, homelessness, violence, lack of affordable housing, lack of access to all services.
Mr Khan you are not representing ordinary Londoners - the privileged maybe but not the rest of us.

This affordable rent is not that affordable for some it is height for those on low income and those that work part time and those who may never in a life that can ever afford a their own home specially when your a single person. It’s also very hard for when your in affordable social housing association to swap home because the rent is too high I am a person that will never have my own home. 

I think the TFL fares have not been frozen. That's a lie. Zone 1-4 just went up by £6 per month... it was £188 and not it's 194. Bus pass had an increase as well. Hilarious especially at summer time when it's boiling on the tube, boiling on the bus plus, the whole tube system is rubbish. Just check your nose when you blow out after a journy and you'll see how much dust went just under 15-20 mins travelling by underground. 

Also, where are the bloody public toilets? I don't see any of them! Why did you remove them? Shall I pee on the wall? What if someone - like me - has an IBS? You just made my life much harder.

Also, I don't see enough police officers on the road walking or by car.

I took the challenge but only scored 3 out of 8.

I was most surprised about the sources of revenue for the Mayor's budget.

Easy to criticise Sadiq when discussing the knife crime situation but cutting police numbers to this extent can't help but have a shocking effect on law & order in the city.

Neither he nor the Met can hope to sort the problem out if police numbers are the lowest we've had since the 90's; what's the point of blaming him for that? The government have cut the funding & the price is being paid by young kids on the streets.

The Mayor spends HUGE amounts of money every year on PR. He has doubled his annual PR budget since 2016. It sickens me that the mayor spends so much on this, yet lays off hard working police staff, is cutting buses and failing to keep his promise to freeze fares for those of us who use a travelcard. I also am stunned as to why the mayor is spending so much more on culture. So many more worthy investments of the mayors budget exist

If we don't provide car free routes across London It will fail to meet its clean air commitments because it far too scary and dangerous to cycle and ugly and noisy to enjoy walking. 

It is not reasonable of government to deal with transport pollution by expecting cyclists to to be terrified and in constant danger every time we travel. 

When is it reasonable to expect terror, being knocked to the ground in moving traffic and have near death experiences just to get from A to B?

Much, much, much more need to be done for the environment

just what  we need more on the mayors pay roll . i can just hear them now we need to have more money from the tax payer

to fund our snowflake schemes. if you can't bulid a railway with out knowing how long it will take, why o why do you think 

our mayor can run london, he's good at wasting our money going round europe doing down our country and our people.

new tax's are only paid by the poor not the rich and big multinational 

London needs a radical overhaul in governance and its ability to raise revenue. 33 boroughs duplicate services and fight amongst themselves and thus preventing a London wide strategic vision for housing and other essential services. It's time to get rid of the boroughs and bring back city wide government that is more efficient and strategic. Additionally the council tax system is regressive in how it is no longer linked to the true value of homes in London - a land value tax is long overdue. A move to land value system would see a fairer redistribution of taxes that would relieve the stress on those most vulnerable and on our small and medium business who employ the majority of Londoners and are the foundation of this city.

Khan is well on the way to bankrupting TfL with his idiot "fares freeze" & the ULEZ-extension proposals will hit private car owners very badly - he should concentrate on the reall polluters - commercial vehicles, including ALL taxis, buses, & vans.

I will NOT be voting for him at the next election.

Whatever the mayor does with the budget the poorer people will never benefit, the money is to line the richest people pockets that is why the mayor penalise  the poor he would never have to worry where his next meal is coming from or have to worry can he go to work because he cannot afford the pay the charges to drive even if he pays with the sought of salary he gets he is never affected with money worries, he wants to get out in the real world and help where needed. Get more police on our street not cut them back make the money available for more police and for the poorest people, it is about time the mayor left office and new blood come in, it can never be as bad as it is now, perhaps that will take the sneer off his face, he is the worst mayor London has ever had, cannot wait for 2010 and get someone new that will be different from him, he is all talk and no do.

I bet he will benefit from the budget.
