Community Member 7 years agoTwitter. Artist and venue emails. Don’t feel I miss out though ticket agency and resale site activities limiting fair availability does mean I miss out in that respect.

Community Member 7 years agoSpecific email notifications from theatres, vegan groups, poetry library, direct from artists/groups. Examples include: Proms, eventbrite, tibits/whole food cafe, young vic, sadlers Wells, black history walks and ballet black, and so on...

2. E-news subscriptions to various museums, cultural spaces (e.g., Southbank Centre), music venues, promoters and bands
3. Following bands, museums, cultural spaces on Twitter, Facebook + Instagram
4. Via friend's recommendations on Facebook, Twitter + Instagram
5. Looking at recommended and popular events on Facebook
Yes, I've definitely missed out on events! SO difficult to keep track of everything interesting and relevant in this massive city.

I mean, for a booking whether online or by other means, to be charged an additional 'booking fee' or 'phone fee' - what's going on? And, we all know touts have the first 'grab' at 1000s of show tickets cheaply which are then sold on to us mugs ligitimately via online 'buy tickets to the shows' companies. London in so many ways is a mugger's paradice.

Community Member 7 years agoI receive a lot of emails from theatres and art galleries. I am alos a member of a number of galleries , such as Tate so get their excellent newsletters. I think if you get on mailing lists its very easy to keep in touch. Obviuosly people...

I think if you get on mailing lists its very easy to keep in touch. Obviuosly people who don't use e-mail frequently will miss out and it is these harder to reach people that a lot of organasations wish to attract.
I thought I had signed up for news from my local council ( Lambeth) but only find out their cultural events by coming across leaflets in the library.

Community Member 7 years agoThere are so many events on in London that if I worried about what I was missing I would be paralysed with indecision and never leave the house!
I mostly find out about events through Time Out, Eventbrite, email subscriptions to various...

I mostly find out about events through Time Out, Eventbrite, email subscriptions to various arts organisations and Facebook.

Community Member 7 years agoI have for a long time wishes that there is a website, database, calender showing various events that are taking place in Greater London.
This could be cross referenced into Postcode, ie SE3, or SE22, date, name of area, New Cross...

This could be cross referenced into Postcode, ie SE3, or SE22, date, name of area, New Cross, Deptford, type of event, Jazz, classical music, very brief summary times, ticket cost, description, and links for further information, if it cannot be fitted on the alloted space, For those wishing to pay for more space on the website, a charge, which would help pay for the total cost of running this website. I think that certain profit making venues should pay, where other charitable fund raising events, church sales, money rainsing activitiies for charities should get a smallish space but should be free.
There could also be banner advertising on the site to recoup costs.
There could also be an email system where people could subscribe to for instance all emails for photography exhibitions in Greater London....on a weekly or monthly basis......
This would be the best way of promoting cultural and all sorts of other entertainment in London
