Thriving businesses

What does London need to do to help businesses thrive. Well that’s a pretty wide question. As someone who travels into London regularly from the suburbs ( Greenwich ) for meetings and work, I am constantly amazed at where people find the resilience to use public transport in rush hour. Once of a day rush hour was 0700 to 0900 now when I get on the bus to Travel to North Greenwich at 0600 it’s standing room only. At North Greenwich the Jubilee Line at 0615 is rammed with people and again standing room only and this now goes on until 0930. It is mind numbing. So better transport would be a start. Rents for small bus8nesses in London are simply beyond the means of most start ups and thankfully landlords are now starting to develop more smaller and more affordable and importantly flexible rented spaces often with communal facilities to encourage young people to develop their business ideas in flexible and comm7nal working facilities. Mobile phone signal - another issue - how is it possible to be standing in Central London in 2017 and for the mobile signal to continually drop away or drop to one or two bars. I can 02 the provider and they say it’s because of high use age levels and lack of availability of infrastructure in some areas. How can this be. What other service do we pay for and when it is not supplied we still pay? It’s unacceptable and the service operators should be made to develop the facilities so the service is seamless. Finally I agree that business support and grants for start ups need to be more easily available to encourage the new generation of tech businesses in the City.
