Advanced Learner Loans
Had you heard of this before? Is it something that you would ever consider applying for?
The government offers Advanced Learner Loans to help adult learners manage the costs of further education and training in England. These loans cover tuition fees for a range of Level 3 to Level 6 courses including:
• A-levels
• General and vocational qualifications
• Access to Higher Education diplomas
Anyone aged 19 or over and living in England is eligible to apply. The amount you’re eligible for depends on the course you want to study and the fees charged by the college or training provider. You don’t have to pay back any of your loan until you’ve started earning over £21,000 a year.

I considered a Student Loan through the loan company but felt that the repayment terms were out of my control and the interest rate was too much. As I am good at managing my finances I decided that the fees would be better paid by a 0% Credit card and personal savings (I am working full-time) as they would be much more under my control.
