Since the last Mayor's Question Time, have you had a chance to review your arithmetic in relation to the numbers of jobs you are creating and the extent to which your pledges for the future in general include delivery that predates the most recent election?

Thames Cable Car

  • Reference: 2012/1674
  • Question by: Fiona Twycross
  • Meeting date: 13 June 2012
Why has the cost of the Thames Cable Car increased from £25m in 2010 to the current estimated cost of £60m? Who or what is responsible for the cost increase and what action has been taken as a result of such inaccurate estimates being made? Have the owners of the Excel Exhibition Centre and the O2, who are likely to be the long term beneficiaries of the project, been asked to make any financial contribution to the costs and have they done so? Finally, what was the original business case for this project and is there still a business case?

Step free access on the Tube

  • Reference: 2012/1673
  • Question by: Fiona Twycross
  • Meeting date: 13 June 2012
Do you agree with my constituent who told me that 'it is a disgrace that main line trains will get lifts but the tube will not'? Does your commitment to investment on the tube include a commitment to step free access at tube stations where this is not currently provided and where people with disabilities and people with children in buggies experience difficulties in gaining access to public transport as a result. If so which tube stations will be getting step free access in the next year and which ones will remain without step free access?
