Wage growth

  • Reference: 2018/0930
  • Question by: Fiona Twycross
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
Mark Carney from the Bank of England has warned that economic uncertainty caused by the Brexit vote will knock 5% off UK wage growth by the end of the year. What action can you take to help Londoners who are already impacted by stagnating wages and an increase in the cost of living?

Further to MQ 2017/4078, can you provide me with an update on the conversations have you had with the Government about workers' rights and the Taylor Review?

Kensal Green Station - Staffing

  • Reference: 2018/0925
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
Ticket offices were closed with a clear understanding and commitment that stations would be adequately staffed. Unfortunately, I've had reports of staffing problems at Kensal Green station. Can you please look into this?

Public Energy Company

  • Reference: 2018/0924
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
Disappointment is expressed in my constituency in what is described as the Mayor reneging on his pledge to set up a public energy company for London and disinvest in fossil fuels. What is the justification for the change of heart that I can convey to my stakeholders? Is there any chance of an ambitious fully licensed public energy company that can take effective and meaningful action on fuel poverty?

LIP Funding

  • Reference: 2018/0923
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
TfL funding streams are vital to maintaining local infrastructure in boroughs and 'LIP' funding plays a major role in this. Reductions in LIP funding will have an adverse impact on local roads which are getting worse and are prime concerns to Londoners. What is your message to boroughs that are already strapped for cash and need support to keep local roads safe from ever increasing potholes?

Cycling - Outer London Boroughs

  • Reference: 2018/0922
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
My local cycling campaigners have a strong and understandable feeling that politicians need to realise that the quiet majority of Londoners want better cycling facilities and there are no plans for major TfL driven cycling infrastructure in Harrow. There is also much criticism about how and where Quiteways are planned. How can outer London boroughs have better planned cycling infrastructure?

Liveable Neighbourhoods Scheme

  • Reference: 2018/0921
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
Following your funding announcement benefitting some 7 boroughs, when will other boroughs such as Brent and Harrow benefit from receiving funding to improve their neighbourhoods and make them walking and cycling friendly, in line with your recently announced scheme? What is the rollout programme and what is the criteria for selecting areas for implementation?

Encouraging MMR vaccinations

  • Reference: 2018/0919
  • Question by: Onkar Sahota
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2018
With an increase in the number of measles cases in London ( https://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/west-london-measl…), does the Mayor see a role for himself and his office in promoting the take up of the MMR among Londoners, particularly in encouraging parents to make sure their children are vaccinated?
