Affordable housing nominations
OPDC works with the host boroughs of Brent, Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham and the Greater London Authority to ensure that the new affordable homes delivered in the OPDC area help meet local and London-wide affordable housing needs.
Social Rent/ London Affordable Rent
Registered providers of social housing are required to enter into nomination agreements with Brent, Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham and the Greater London Authority. The host borough where the new housing is situated makes nominations to 70% of the social rent or London Affordable Rent units. The other two boroughs and the Greater London Authority makes nominations to 10% each.
Intermediate housing
The host borough where the new housing is situated can offer the intermediate housing units (such as Shared Ownership or London Living Rent) to households living within the borough, subject to eligibility and affordability checks. There is a cascade mechanism whereby the units are offered to households in other boroughs when they are not taken by households in the host borough.
