  • Lead off question - Delays to Crossrail (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 06 September 2018
Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM: Thank you. Mr Mayor, just ten weeks ago, in answer to a Mayoral question (MQ), you stated, “The Elizabeth line remains on course to open as planned in December 2018”. The Commissioner, in the TfL Board report of 25 July [2018] stated, “Crossrail remains on course to open as planned in December”. Sir Terry, on 6 June, when the Transport Committee visited Tottenham Court Road with you, you gave me an absolute assurance that the opening of Crossrail would be in December. You even confirmed the date, Sunday, 9 December when the Queen would be opening...
  • Lead off question - Delays to Crossrail (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Florence Eshalomi MP
    • Meeting date: 06 September 2018
Florence Eshalomi AM: Thank you. To come back to Crossrail, on this side [of the table] we definitely recognise the scale of this project but once completed it will be a big success for London. I am definitely looking forward to when it opens. You may be aware of Rob Holden’s [CBE, Chairman, High Speed 1] letter last week in The Times where he stated, “The problems with Crossrail arose from the decision taken in 2011 to delay the procurement of new rolling stock, a decision that has affected the commissioning of those new trains ... signalling was always going...
  • Lead off question - Delays to Crossrail (Supplementary) [9]

    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 06 September 2018
Caroline Russell AM: Thank you, Chairman. I want to ask about the experience of the passengers who are waiting to use this line but before I get on to those questions I want to pick up on something that Sir Terry said at the very beginning. You said, “We mitigated one risk and others materialised”. I wonder if you could expand on that a bit more, whether that is what has caused this decision about the delay.
  • Lead off question - Delays to Crossrail (Supplementary) [14]

    • Question by: Keith Prince
    • Meeting date: 06 September 2018
Keith Prince AM: Thank you, Chairman. Good morning, Sir Terry. I am trying to get some dates straight in my head. You mentioned a Board meeting in July [2018] where it was raised that there could be problems. Could you tell me the date of that meeting in July, please?
  • Public disorder incidents in London

    • Reference: 2011/0116-1
    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 07 September 2011
Can I open this session by putting the question to both of you: what are the key learning points and the next steps arising from the recent public disorder incidents in London? Can I ask the Acting Commissioner to start?
  • Public disorder incidents in London (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Tony Arbour
    • Meeting date: 07 September 2011
I would like initially to thank you, Commissioner, for ensuring that the borough commanders in my part of London were able to, by having a show of strength, prevent any trouble in any of the boroughs which I represent, and I thank him for that. The question I would like to ask is probably one for Kit. One of the few positive things which has come out of this has been the demonstration that it is possible to cut through the red tape which there habitually is in bringing people to justice. The rapidity, swiftness and certainty of punishment has...
  • Catering at Games' Venues (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
Will your Food Strategy apply to all of the Olympic venues? I mean not just those within the Park but Weybridge, Broxbourne, Dorney Wood, Manchester United's football ground. Will it apply to all of them, even those commercial premises which you are hiring in for the period of the Games?
  • Catering at Games' Venues (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Navin Shah
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
Again, I am very happy to see you around. The question is on your policy and strategy about promoting fair trade products and that is right across the board, not only food and drink, but other products, sporting or otherwise?
  • Risks (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
Sorry to interrupt. I appreciate this. What I am trying to get at here is this is a legacy not only for London but the UK Olympic Games. It seems rather crude that we are having to rely upon external sponsorship that may have its own kickbacks where we do not have direct funding from our Government on an education programme that I think is crucial to leave any purposeful legislation --
