Our response
I can confirm that the GLA holds information within the scope of your request. Please find the answers to each question in turn below:
1. Yes.
All-In is the name of the GLA’s staff-led allies initiative which recognises that in order for the GLA to make progress towards its ambitions to create a genuinely inclusive working culture, participation and action from all staff is necessary. All-In supports GLA staff to be active allies with colleagues whose identities are underrepresented. All-In supports the work of the GLA’s staff networks and works in partnership with them to encourage all GLA staff to take part, thereby strengthening and growing their memberships. All-In organises events in partnership with staff networks and are explicitly open to all GLA staff.
2. All-In is a staff-led initiative and membership is voluntary. Like our staff networks, All-In has a Mayoral sponsor and a sponsor representing the Corporate Management Team.
All staff have been set an equality, diversity and inclusion objective for 2022-23:
- attend at least three staff network events over the performance year, to fulfil their personal responsibility for understanding and appreciating colleagues whose lives, for whatever reason, are different from their own
- act as an active ally for members of under-represented groups as a result of taking time to read, listen, watch, and deepen personal understanding
- use this knowledge to support their personal contribution to the delivery of the GLA’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Statement.
This is a baseline objective for all staff and managers should consider setting staff additional stretching EDI objectives that progress allyship and personal action.
3. Approximately 250 members of staff are currently members of All-In.
4. The GLA publishes this information twice a year. The most recent workforce report gives both headcount and establishment numbers in terms of full-time equivalent and actual numbers.
5. Yes, it covers all Protected Characteristics as set out in the Equality Act 2010.
