Submitting a planning application to OPDC
Planning applications relating to land within the OPDC boundary must be submitted to the Development Corporation.
How to submit a planning application
The simplest way to submit a planning application is online via the Planning Portal.
Registration is easy and you can submit your planning application forms and supporting documents electronically. The benefits of applying online via the Planning Portal include:
- immediate delivery and acknowledgement
- savings on postage and printing costs
- online help when completing applications
- online record of your applications
If you are unable to submit your application online then please discuss with our Development Management team on 020 7983 6520.
Please note that a planning application cannot be progressed until all the necessary supporting information and the appropriate fee is received.
Delegation of applications to local boroughs
In certain circumstances, we may delegate the handling of your application to the local borough; we will notify you if we decide to do this. Information on the types of pre applications and applications likely to be delegated to the local borough can be found below.
Planning application requirements
OPDC’s validation checklist (adopted January 2019) outlines the documents required to support a planning application to the OPDC, along with a description of the appropriate thresholds.
Paying for a planning application
Your planning application must be accompanied by the correct fee. The government sets Planning Application Fees, which apply across the country.
For help calculating the fee for your planning application, we recommend using the Planning Portal’s Fee Calculator.
The easiest way to pay your application fee is by BACS bank transfer. Please call us on 020 7983 6520 to arrange this.
