Working together with local authorities and service providers, OPDC will ensure that the development provides adequate services in-line with local needs.

FAQs: Social Infrastructure
As part of the regeneration of Old Oak and Park Royal, new social infrastructure facilities will be built. Read the FAQs around health centres, schools and other community facilities.
The OPDC has prepared an Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) which sets out the infrastructure which is required for the delivery of the Local Plan Policies. This document will be updated regularly to ensure that the OPDC is able to demonstrate to developers and delivery partners what infrastructure is required, where and when.
Although the OPDC is not a Highways Authority it is working closely with the Boroughs and Transport for London (TfL) to determine the types of transport infrastructure required and when it needs to be delivered. Information on the currently known transport infrastructure projects can be found in the Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP)
The Development Infrastructure Funding Study (DIFS) and the Utilities Study provide in-depth analysis on the future need for different types of utilities for the OPDC area. The projects identified in these reports have then been put into the Infrastructure Delivery Plan. The OPDC will also work with providers to ensure that necessary utility infrastructure is brought forward in a timely manner.
Yes, as the project is implemented and higher numbers of people live in the area, a monitoring report will be prepared to assess the performance of a range of planning policies, including those linked to the delivery of social infrastructure (e.g. shops and amenities). This report will provide information on levels of supporting infrastructure being secured.
OPDC has identified the need for more and/or expanded schools to support the number of people that will be living in the area. We will be working with partners, including the three London boroughs and education providers to ensure that these are delivered to meet the needs of new and existing local communities. Further information is available in the Education and Health Needs Study.
OPDC has looked at and suggested what kind of health facilities may be needed to support the growing population. OPDC will work with developers and service providers to make sure that development incorporate adequate health facilities, including health centres with space for GP's, dentists, pharmacists and opticians. Further information is available in the Education and Health Needs Study.
OPDC wants to provide opportunities for a range of community facilities, located at key destination points and close to public transport links so that they are accessible for all residents.
OPDC will consider a number of things when locating new social infrastructure (e.g. health centres, schools and other community uses), such as: access to public transport, ensuring they are in visible/accessible locations, and opportunities for co-location (having multiple and complementary uses on one site).
Local Councils must maintain a list of Assets of Community Value (ACV) nominated by community groups within their area. Please contact the relevant London Borough if you require any further information about the ACV register in your area.
