Volunteer delivery drivers

What will I be doing?

• Our driver volunteers are an essential part of our chain of help, taking the food we need to cook, bringing it to our kitchens, and delivering cooked meals to various partner shelters and community centers.
• We have a partnership with some food distributor charities such as Edible London, City Harvest and Barnet Food Hub, which supply us with plenty of fresh food for our meals.
• This food needs to be collected and taken to our venues for us to cook with it.
• As well as this, we need drivers to collect meals from our facilities and deliver them to the shelters.
• As such we have an essential volunteer opportunity to help with some specific routes.

What impact will this have?

• Here at FEAST we can't cook and supply delicious, nutritious meals without the help of our volunteer drivers!.
• As a delivery driver, you will play an essential role within the FEAST team, and will ensure that everyone who relies on our food will be fed.
• We will also offer you the opportunity to cook with us too! So if you ever fancy a break from driving, you can spend some time cooking in one of our kitchens with a team of other lovely volunteers.

Commitment

• We have available delivery routes on Wednesdays and Thursdays every week, plus more ad hoc opportunities throughout the week.
• We are looking to recruit kind, motivated and reliable volunteers who want to contribute to tackling the issues of surplus food and hunger amongst homeless communities.

Expenses

• We do not reimburse volunteer expenses for this role

Background checks

• No background checks are required

Training

• A basic Level 2 Food Hygiene course will be offered to those also wishing to participate in cooking sessions.
