Motorhomes in London

I always see big open spaces in London not being used. Just an area with rubbish and weeds growing out of control. Old warehouses, disused car parks, failed planning permission. Just big empty spaces. Why don't we use these spaces and make safe motorhome parks. Permanent living space for people working and living in the city. Somewhere that is affordable, safe, and creates a positive community spirit.

These days rent in London is quite expensive and to even think about ever buying a home is out of the question and I wondered about living in a motorhome/van/bus. A home I can own.

Unfortunately there is nothing safe about a motorhome nor is it suitable for a city like London to have motorhome parks which are usually dodgy and rather ugly. These spaces would become great parks and activity centres for the youth, the elderly and the whole community. We would need to have more greenery given the insane constructions going on everywhere in London, more trees planted, people employed at building sustainable houses in said parks which would not only be a great example for school children to visit but also enhance the neighbourhoods, putting a smile on everyone's face and cleaner air in our lungs.

I am not sure what you mean by unsafe. Unsafe for the people living there? I don't think it's anymore unsafe then people living in house boats.
Or unsafe because of the type of people living there will be dodgy? It will be the same type of...

Or unsafe because of the type of people living there will be dodgy? It will be the same type of people who are already living next door to you. Normal working Londoners. I think maybe when you hear motorhome park you think of an American trailer park style. However I believe in can be done tastefully and look rather nice

More green spaces are always a good idea in any city but I think London is already quite a green city with many parks. What London really needs in affordable housing

I'd suggest motorhome parks would reduce the land value of the surrounding area (ever played SimCity?) and wouldn't get any goahead. I'd suggest those area's are tidied up to create more green spaces. Less chance of anyone going against the...

I'd suggest motorhome parks would reduce the land value of the surrounding area (ever played SimCity?) and wouldn't get any goahead. I'd suggest those area's are tidied up to create more green spaces. Less chance of anyone going against the idea and would improve the quality of life of those living nearby.

I'd recommend repurposing offices and office buildings to residentual as the demand office space has decreased so much since people continnue to work from home.

I agree london needs this and utilizing these spaces

but also maybe more tiny homes being built could be another solution.

I don’t feel this is ideal for families. It would also require a type of control that would be very difficult to enforce. London can do better than this.

Thanks for your comment Vern, not ideal for families no, but for single young working professionals I believe it to be very ideal. It could be controlled the same way boat houses are managed with bays for rent and controlled and taken care...
