If you wanted to change energy supplier how would you go about finding the best one for you? If you have made the switch, how did you go about making the best choice?

Maybe we all signed up together and join force to a better deal. So, if all of say 10,000 users decided to switch then we could get a better deal collectively.

Is there anything that you think would make it easier to look for a tariff that best meets your needs?

Thanks everyone for your views.

What are the important aspects of a supplier to you? Cost, customer services, green credentials etc?

The Mayor / government / councils / TFL should aggregate their energy use and require that it is fulfilled with renewable energy.

There are so many comparison sites that I’d feel like I have to try each one, defeating the point of them. The survey suggests a non profit London energy company, I think this would be a brilliant idea if it is run like TfL as it would provide real competition to the big six who usually raise their prices together, collectively acting as a monopoly.

Also the tariffs need to be simplified. There should only be one tariff per company. There is no need for different tariffs as there is only one kind of electricity, not only do you have to choose company but understand the tariffs provided by each one. It’s just electricity, there’s no “premium electricity” or anything so it should just be simple.

There are more green suppliers available too. I switched when I found out BG where the biggest investors in fracking.
