In May 2019, the government announced £200 million to remove and replace unsafe aluminium composite material (ACM) cladding systems on high-rise private sector residential buildings in England. The GLA is delivering this programme in London

all reasonable costs for the remediation of unsafe ACM cladding on residential buildings over 18m in height (or within the 30cm tolerance) and in private ownership

the Mayor has secured London’s share of the national Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP) funding to deliver much-needed homes, with support, for people sleeping rough who have a long history of rough sleeping or complex needs; and for young people (aged 18-25) at risk of or experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping. The programme aims to increase the supply of good-quality, specialist supported accommodation and housing-led approaches. This new programme will assist the Mayor to meet the commitments outlined in his Housing Strategy to meet London’s diverse housing needs, and support people sleeping rough to come off the streets

£270.6m (£175.4m of capital and £95.2m of revenue) is being made available for SHAP to deliver homes during 2023-25, and for three years of associated support, up to March 2028.

on 17 December 2020, the Government committed £30m to the nationwide Waking Watch Relief Fund (WWRF) to pay for the costs of installing a common fire alarm system in eligible residential buildings with unsafe cladding systems. The Greater London Authority (GLA) is administering this fund for eligible private buildings in London. The WWRF will fund reasonable costs to support the installation of an alarm system in residential buildings over 18 metres in height (with 30cm tolerance), with an unsafe external wall system and an existing waking watch, and where the costs have been passed on to the leaseholders.
