Whitefriars School 2020/21

Next steps and Positive Regard

What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

The challenges of exceptionally low starting points on entry, very low levels of language upon entry, very high levels of deprivation and disadvantage locally and high levels of mobility.

What actions did you take?

We love the children and put them and their learning at the heart of everything we do. We have created an active and exciting curriculum that ensures all pupils really enjoy the learning experience. The secret of our success is continuous, forensic assessment that informs pacey next steps teaching and learning, underpinned by strong values and positive feedback for all learners.

What were the outcomes?

Whitefriars School went from being the lowest performing school in the borough (2011), to being in the top 100 nationally.
